AI: These Aren't The Droids You're Looking For
Wish you could use the Force to convince your nearest and dearest business executive that AI isn't the one and only solution for all things? As Obi-Wan Kenobi told a stormtrooper, "These aren't the droids you're looking for," Rachel Moore explains why AI isn't the end-all, be-all answer to cutting budgets and churning out content.
Instead, listen in for three ways AI can help human content creators and copywriters get beyond the blank page, shape AI-generated copy into a final message, and avoid bias in AI results.
Plus there's a tool tip in this episode for anyone looking for an AI resource that isn't ChatGPT.

Smelling Our Own Farts
Marketers, we need to be honest: we really, really love our own content. But does our audience? So much of our messaging is like a rancid fart we're making our audience endure to get to the best part of our product or service.
In this episode of marketingXP, Rachel gives you three ways to avoid being a fart-smelling marketer and, instead, approach your customers relationally so they can get over your smellier moments.
PLUS there's a free PowerUp (https://bit.ly/3QiHq6T) for this first episode: an executive-ready presentation slide (good for PowerPoint or Google Slides) for your own use. Give it a whirl!

All my little Urchins in marketing, the problem with all your eggs in social media baskets, and happy 14th day of February
Are you an Urchin, and do you know why? In this week's drop of The Really Social Podcast, Rachel shares why the "urchin" moniker is important to everyone's marketing efforts. In this week's blog (https://really.social/blog/?utm_source=audio-podcast&utm_medium=show-notes&utm_content=blog-UTMs&utm_campaign=podcast), Rachel provides a super comprehensive how-to for creating tracking links to your website's Google Analytics. There's also a new video on our channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKoGwgyr5hM) this week!
Did you notice social media had a bit of a blip last week? As in Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram were all out of commission? Rachel digs into why it's always a good idea to diversify your business marketing across more than one social domain, and also why owning your business land online - instead of trusting in "rented land" - is the best practice.
All of this and more can be in your inbox (https://really.social/newsletter/?utm_source=audio-podcast&utm_medium=show-notes&utm_content=newsletter&utm_campaign=podcast) via the B2B Boop newsletter. You can even see if Rachel's writing tone matches up with her speaking tone.

Boss levels in gaming and marketing, a little LinkedIn Audio, and tell me a better story
Where my gamers at? Asking because it occurred to me that my life as a video gamer and my profession as a marketer have definite overlaps. Plus you get to hear how old I really am as I refer to certain games of yesteryear. For the full dive into all the ways gaming and marketing go hand in hand, check out this week's Really Social blog (https://bit.ly/40uJmMm) on the topic.
Since you're listening to this podcast, maybe creating your own B2B podcast is on the brain but you feel like you can't get started. Try creating a LinkedIn Audio event! I listened in on one for the first time this week and it seems like an easy gateway into regular podcasting for your brand. Create a LinkedIn Audio event with your personal profile or company page... More on that in the weekly B2Bboop newsletter. (scroll down a bit for the link)
One of the crossovers I mention between video games and marketing is storytelling, and to me that's one of the things most lacking in B2B marketing (and in job searches!). I break it down super succinctly in today's podcast, but there's a more expansive explanation on the Really Social weekly video on YouTube (http://bit.ly/howtosocialvideos).
Rachel's newsletter, B2Bboop, goes out weekly and features the topics from this podcast. Add us to your inbox (https://bit.ly/3ZXFUJQ) for a super brief and quippy rundown of the latest RS blog, a hot news item that impacts businesses, and the latest YouTube video to help you succeed.

Loving on those laid off, don't fail to prepare your crisis comms plan, TikTok bans, and ChatGPT for cover letters
SO MANY LAYOFFS in tech this last week.
If you are or know someone who is laid off, please reach out to Rachel on any social platforms @rachelhasthemic and she'll reshare and try to help find your next thing. In fact, Rachel posted a LinkedIn video that should top 20K impressions this week; check it out here (https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rachelhasthemic_openforwork-rachelforhire-activity-7021571582997274624-Bxv7?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop) for inspiration or if you'd like to help spread the word.
Also use #opentowork hashtag on social, use the social apps to network and shoot your shot for that next role you want.
Rachel gives a huge shout-out to her social network; if you haven't been loving on yours lately, now is the time.
New blog on RS about why your business needs crisis comms (https://bit.ly/3D6ZNUX), and how to create a plan.
(If you need a good public relations resource, Rachel recommends Novitas Communications (https://novitascommunications.com/). They are a Denver-based firm that works globally and are a responsive, empathatic, and highly-skilled team that can help you with your media and PR plans.)
To TikTok or not to TikTok? The social app - owned out of China by Bytedance - is getting banned in a handful of states for college campuses and state government devices. Even the feds are cracking down. For businesses and brands using TikTok for organic or paid social, keep this on your radar. Story from Techcrunch (https://techcrunch.com/2023/01/19/tiktok-college-bans-texas-bytedance/).
And this week's How-To video from the Really Social YouTube channel helps you get started with ChatGPT. Rachel kind of goes off about cover letters and why she loves using AI writing to help with those. Sub to the Really Social YouTube (http://bit.ly/howtosocialvideos) channel where we post the video version of the Really Social Podcast and loads of how-to videos for business, social media, and marketing.

In this episode of the Really Social Podcast, Rachel greets listeners to the first episode of the show.
Salesforce has had a doozy of a few months: 8,000 layoffs, 3 C-suite exits, and an activist investor have set 2023 off to a rocky start. What does that mean for business? What does that mean for tech? Check out our blog for the deets (https://bit.ly/3IREuL2).
Ever advertised on Twitter? Elon has decided you deserve a free buck for every dollar you spend up to $250K (conditions apply but they're pretty easy (https://www.entrepreneur.com/business-news/twitter-is-offering-free-ads-to-bring-advertisers-back/442947)).
LinkedIn Company Pages can tell you who's following your page right down to their job function, industry, company size, seniority, and location. All the how-to you need (https://youtu.be/elJJDjtpkpw) is available in Really Social's latest video.
