Jace Andrews and Nick Gosse break down the latest Mavericks updates on Morez Johnson Jr. and Naji Marshall.
Dallas Mavericks news and rumors are heating up as Morez Johnson Jr. continues to be one of the most interesting young players on the Mavs roster. Is Morez Johnson Jr. being undervalued by Mavericks fans and Dallas media? We break down why the No. 9 overall pick could have a much bigger impact for the Mavericks than people are expecting and what his potential role could look like under new Mavs head coach Dusty May.
Morez Johnson Jr. has been working his way through training camp while Dallas manages his workload, but the former Michigan star has the size, physicality, rebounding ability, defensive versatility and upside to become an important piece of the Mavericks rotation. Dusty May knows Morez Johnson Jr. extremely well from their time together at Michigan, and Dallas clearly believes his game can translate to the NBA alongside Cooper Flagg and the rest of this Mavericks young core.
We also discuss Naji Marshall and why he could have a HUGE role for the Dallas Mavericks this season based on Dusty May’s comments and the direction of the new Mavs offense. Marshall is coming off a breakout season in Dallas and brings scoring, physicality, versatility, defense and the ability to create offense off the bench or in the starting lineup. Could Naji Marshall become one of the most important players on this Mavericks roster?
