[…] It is what has made America that shining city on the hill. I believe in limited government. I believe in individual responsibility. And I believe that government needs to play a role in those individuals that are less fortunate than us, that have challenges in life. I think that government should play a role in that. But it should be limited, and it should be limited in scope and in time. That has shaped my view of the world. I'm also a fiscal conservative. I don't think that we should be overtaxed as a society. Nobody's better at deciding how you spend your money than you are. So the more money the government takes away, the less you have with regards to those decision making. […]
