What’s Happening to Legions Imperialis? | Maximal Fire Podcast Ep 49

What does the future hold for Legions Imperialis – and should players be concerned about the recent slowdown in releases? In this episode of the Maximal Fire Podcast, we take a deep dive into the latest Legions Imperialis releases, the noticeable lack of new announcements and what this could tell us about the future direction of Games Workshop's epic-scale Horus Heresy game. With Adeptus Titanicus still very much part of the conversation, we discuss where both systems could be heading and what we'd like to see from GW next.We also look at another potentially significant development from Games Workshop: the move towards ready-painted terrain. Could this be the beginning of a wider change in how GW approaches terrain and accessories? Who is it aimed at, and what might it tell us about the company's future strategy? Then we're looking ahead to our own plans.Beachhead 2027 will be Maximal Fire's headline event for next year, and we talk about what we're planning, why we're putting so much focus behind it and what you can expect from us as we build towards the event. All of these changes also raise some bigger questions for Maximal Fire itself. As the games we cover evolve, where does the channel go next? We discuss the future of our content, events and the games we want to support as we head into 2027.IN THIS EPISODE⚙️ The latest Legions Imperialis releases⚙️ Why have Legions Imperialis releases slowed down?⚙️ What could be coming next for the game?⚙️ The future of Adeptus Titanicus⚙️ Is Games Workshop changing its strategy?⚙️ GW's move into pre-painted / ready-painted terrain⚙️ Our plans for Beachhead 2027⚙️ Future Maximal Fire events⚙️ What all of this means for the future of Maximal FireWhether you're a Legions Imperialis player, an Adeptus Titanicus veteran, a Horus Heresy fan or simply interested in where Games Workshop's specialist games are heading, we'd love to hear what you think. What do YOU think the future holds for Legions Imperialis? Are you happy with the direction of the game?
