Cate Page and Dietrich Stogner, two authors who love stories and storytelling, break down some of their favorite nerdy television shows of all time, watching an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars one week, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine the next.
This week, Cate and Dietrich dive into the season one finale of The Clone Wars, celebrating this milestone by taking the professionalism and preparedness they bring to this show and tossing it out the window. That's right, this week Dietrich challenged himself to take not a single solitary note, an experiment called "why the hell am I doing this" by our more Trek-oriented host. They discuss Cad Bane's adventures in Nashville, Anakin's adventures in being a whiny manipulative partner, and the first villain in history to use a taser at the proper intensity and duration to turn the Chosen One into a rotisserie chicken. They also discuss the baffling decision for a relatively random episode to be the season finale, reasoning that it's only because of the electric charisma of a wheezing Blue Man Group reject ushering in the next season.

Episode 44: I Watched this SO Sober.
This week, Cate and Dietrich are joined by acclaimed science fiction author Adrienne Renick to record a beefy episode celebrating finishing the first season of Deep Space Nine by diving into the very first foray of the Star Trek franchise onto that silver screen! Is Star Trek: The Motion Picture the triumph of subtle and revolutionary science fiction that the creators clearly hoped it would be? Well, given the sheer number of times that Supercuts was referenced in this discussion, we'll say no. It's a bizarre film with bafflingly long hero shots, a fantastic 45 minute plot stuffed into a bewildering two and a half hour movie, and some very specific design choices that led to the word "penetrating" being used in some very unsettling ways. It's a bad movie with a fun discussion, and let's be honest, that's kinda where this podcast thrives.

Episode 44: A "Will Not Taliban" Guarantee!
This week, Cate and Dietrich dig into the outstanding "Liberty on Ryloth", an episode that draws inspiration from such classic kid-friendly content as Cold War political choices that embolden and empower an extremist faction in such a way that will inevitably lead to grief! I think the Wiggles used that topic as well. In addition, they talk about Ashoka finally getting the R&R she deserves, the world's scariest Segway tour, and Mace Windu indeed being THAT MOTHERF... well, you get the idea.
