What if the very thing holding us back from a life of purpose is a question we keep asking in the wrong direction? In this message drawn from the opening chapters of Exodus, we are challenged to reconsider the way we define ourselves. Culture tells us we are our achievements, our appearances, our job titles, and our bank accounts. But Scripture tells a different story. The book of Exodus begins with a single connecting word in the Hebrew text, a word meaning 'and,' reminding us that our story is never isolated. It is woven into something far larger than ourselves. The Israelites in Egypt were enslaved, oppressed, and seemingly forgotten, yet God had not lost the thread of their story. The same is true for us. No matter how chaotic or broken our current circumstances feel, they do not define God's intended purpose for our lives. The message is clear: we are not our past, we are not our present struggles, and we are not the sum of other people's opinions about us. We are who God created us to be, and that identity is rooted in something unshakeable.

Outliers & Outlaws
What does it take to belong to God? Not a perfect record, not years of church attendance, not a long list of good deeds. This message takes us to one of the most raw and unexpected moments in all of Scripture -- the crucifixion of Jesus -- where we witness an outlaw, a condemned revolutionary, become one of the most striking examples of saving faith in the entire Bible. Luke 23 places us at Golgotha, where Jesus is crucified between two criminals. Both men are suffering. Both are facing death. Both have an up-close, unfiltered view of Jesus in his final hours. And yet one walks away into eternity with Jesus while the other does not. The difference is not background, not knowledge, not religious ritual. It is perspective -- the willingness to see Jesus for who he truly is and to see ourselves honestly without him. The dying thief asks nothing more than to be remembered, and Jesus responds with one of the most breathtaking promises in all of Scripture, assuring him that very day they would be together in paradise. This message reminds us that the gospel is not a reward for the religiously accomplished. It is an open invitation to anyone -- outlaw or outlier -- who will come to Jesus with faith and repentance. If we have ever felt like we do not quite belong in God's story, this is the message that challenges that feeling at its root.
