Forgiveness Prayer
Father, thank you for Your promise to forgive me my sins as I forgive those who have sinned against me (Matt. 6:12). Lord Jesus, thank you for dying that I might be forgiven.
By a choice of my will, I choose to forgive (name) for (what they did or failed to do).
When that happened, I felt (name the painful emotions).
I also choose to forgive (name) for the consequences this has had on my life, including (name what was lost/difficulties suffered).
I choose to release (name) from my judgement, taking them off my hook and placing them into God's 's loving lo and just hands. In Jesus' Name.
Lord, I choose not to hold on to my resentment. I thank You for setting me free from the bondage of my bitterness. I relinquish my right to seek revenge and ask You to heal my damaged emotions.
I now ask You to bless (name) who has hurt me, in Jesus' name.
Amen
