About Me Second Podcast
Ex therapist/ client duo who thought either: A- we're geniuses who can navigate humanity or B- we're both exceptionally delusional, and resemble trash tv. You judged us, didn't you? Seeee - we can help with that. As Rachel always says: "Two things can be true at once" and Quel always says, "Delulu is the Selulu." Rachel is a Licensed Therapist, and Quel is a Philosopher, who is also Rachel's ex-client. We're profound thinkers, but cope with the weight of reality with banter and probably yelling or crying, but hey- we're human. We want to show how to debating is an art, not harm. xxoo

Ep. 16 - But WHY? Part two
✨FOLLOW US: linktree.com/mesecond (linktree.com/mesecond) ✨ Apparently adulthood comes with a lot of rules nobody remembers agreeing to. Which side of the bed do you sleep on? Why does voicemail feel like a hostage situation? And when did a ring or an expensive wedding become the official receipt for love? In this brutally funny, deeply honest conversation, Me Second takes a wrecking ball to the social scripts around marriage, family, status, and “normal” life. From funeral etiquette to gender reveals, the question is always the same: Does this actually mean something—or are we all just following instructions from people who also had no idea what they were doing? Expect sharp takes, questionable traditions, and a surprising amount of tenderness tucked between the snark. If you’ve ever looked at a social rule and thought, “But why, though?” —welcome home. LOVE YOU FREAKZ ❤️🔥 Q+R

Ep. 15 But why?
https://linktr.ee/mesecond (https://linktr.ee/mesecond) Why do we blow out candles on a birthday cake? Why do we throw perfectly good money into fountains? Why are men’s nipples just… nipples, but women’s nipples require an emergency response? 😂 In this episode, we started questioning all the completely normal things humans do that become VERY weird the second you actually think about them. Turns out, a lot of “normal” is just a bunch of arbitrary rules, rituals, traditions, and social expectations we all collectively agreed not to question. So naturally, we questioned them. What’s something society considers completely normal that you think is actually kind of bizarre? Stay magic BBs Q + R ❤️🔥

Ep 14. Yearn
https://linktr.ee/mesecond (https://linktr.ee/mesecond) Apparently, we’re yearning again. But what exactly are we yearning for? This week, we get into romance, desire, dating apps, mystery, vulnerability, and whether having unlimited access to everyone has completely screwed up our ability to long for anyone. Can you know too much about someone too soon? Does desire need a little uncertainty? Is vulnerability sexy—or have we confused emotional unavailability with mystery? And what happens when the person you’ve been romanticizing becomes an actual human being who texts you back and has opinions? We also get into the weird contradiction of relationships: we want to be fully known, completely safe, deeply understood…and somehow still surprised. So, is romance real? Is yearning necessary? Or have we collectively agreed to participate in one very elaborate delusion? Quel: “I don’t care. My whole life is a delusion.” Honestly, that about sums it up. Come think with us. ❤️🔥

Ep. 13 Lies We Tell Ourselves
Follow us, tell your mom to follow us, brat. CLICK HERE (linktree.com/MESECOND), DARE YOU. "Am I living by someone else's design?" Rachel and Quel dive into the messy, funny, and surprisingly deep ways we lie to ourselves about worth, independence, and what we think other people are really thinking. From therapy and relationships to conflict, busyness, and society’s obsession with validation, this episode turns into an honest conversation about identity, self-trust, and learning how to stop performing for everyone else. Come shed your worth with us. Q & R ❤️🔥

Ep. 12 THE ODYSSEY
https://linktr.ee/mesecond (https://linktr.ee/mesecond) What if the chaos in your life isn’t just happening to you—what if part of you keeps choosing it? Using The Odyssey as our roadmap, this episode of Me Second explores the monsters, detours, temptations, and sirens we encounter in modern life. We talk about why peace can sometimes feel more uncomfortable than chaos, why we’re drawn back toward things we already know will cost us, and what today’s “sirens” might look like—relationships, attention, validation, ambition, distraction, or even our own familiar patterns. Along the way, we ask: Do we actually want peace, or do we just want chaos we can control? Why can stability feel boring when we’re accustomed to intensity? What are the modern-day sirens we willingly keep listening to? How much of our suffering comes from circumstance—and how much comes from choice? And when life inevitably gets chaotic, how do we know when to fight through it versus change course? Part Greek mythology, part psychology, part philosophy—and, as usual, a few detours of our own. Me Second — where therapy and philosophy meet, disagree, and occasionally make things more complicated before they make sense. STAY MAGIC BB ❤️🔥 -q&r

Ep 11. FORGIVENESS
follow us around (https://linktr.ee/mesecond) 👽 FORGIVE, FORGET OR FXCKING CUT. ❤️🔥 Forgiveness isn’t the same as staying. In this episode, we get real about accountability, apologies that actually mean something, and the line between healing and enabling. From cheating to public humiliation to repeated betrayal, we break down what’s forgivable, what isn’t, and why sometimes the hardest part is trusting your own boundary. Funny, honest, and a little messy — just as normal, we never hold back. ❤️🔥 stay magic bratz

Ep. 10 IDENTITY
https://linktr.ee/MESECOND Who are you if you strip away your job, your relationship, your hobbies, your beliefs—even your memories? That question drives this episode of Me Second, as Rachel and Quel try to figure out what actually makes you, you.We use words like personality, identity, authenticity, and “self” almost interchangeably—but are they really the same thing? And how much of what we call our identity is actually something we chose versus something we inherited, absorbed, performed, or learned to become? We dig into the different layers of self, rank the traits and experiences we believe have shaped us most, and debate whether childhood, trauma, genetics, relationships, values, or our own choices ultimately have the biggest influence on who we become. The conversation explores:-Personality vs. identity—and whether healing can change your personality without changing who you are-The “borrowed” parts of ourselves we pick up from family, relationships, work, religion, politics, culture, and social media-Why labels can feel validating at one point in our lives and restrictive at another-The tension between authenticity and belonging-The inner child and the versions of ourselves we continue carrying into adulthood-Intention vs. perception—and whether other people get to define who we are-How much of ourselves can change before we stop feeling like “us”And because this is Me Second, somehow a conversation about personality eventually leads to death, consciousness, and one of the biggest identity questions there is: if everything that makes you “you” disappears, what—if anything—is left?Along the way, we also get into accountability, resentment, manipulation, and the stories we tell about what has happened to us. At some point, understanding how you became who you are has to meet another question: who do you want to become from here?Maybe identity isn’t one fixed thing. Maybe we’re a collection of selves—some chosen, some inherited, some borrowed, some outgrown, and some we’re still trying to understand.Come think with us. You don’t have to agree.

Ep 9 ATTACHMENT STYLES
FOLLOW US! ❤️🔥 (https://linktr.ee/MESECOND) Attachment styles, overthinking, love languages, religious trauma, and the eternal question: can you be partially colorblind—or are your eyes just oppressed? In this episode, Quel & Rachel begin with a simple conversation about attachment styles and promptly turn it into a full-scale philosophical spiral about identity, labels, relationships, self-trust, and why people desperately want answers that may not exist. Along the way, they debate whether “secure” is even the goal, whether labels help or hurt, why everyone needs more questions, and why Rachel may or may not subscribe to every conspiracy theory she hears. There’s also a passionate defense of keeping the house freezing, a heated-bed endorsement, a discussion of fighting intruders while naked, and the official birth of the cunty kind era. Basically: two friends try to understand humanity, accidentally reinvent therapy, and refuse to accept a normal answer to anything.❤️🔥

Ep 8: Anarchy
https://linktr.ee/mesecond (https://linktr.ee/mesecond) What if humanity had to start over? If you could build a brand-new civilization from scratch, who would you bring—and what kind of world would you create? In this episode of Me Second, Rachel and Quel draft the people they'd choose to rebuild society before diving into a much bigger debate. Quel believes we could create a civilization without politics, hierarchy, or even laws. Rachel argues that no matter what system we build, human nature eventually recreates the same patterns we've always lived by. Is society broken because of the rules... or because of us? From leadership and power to survival, freedom, and human behavior, this episode asks whether a better civilization is actually possible—or whether we'd simply repeat history. Who would make your civilization? What roles are essential? And if you could erase one rule from today's world, what would it be? Stay magic. ❤️🔥 — Q & R

In this chaotic yet profound episode, Quel and Rachel explore the wild terrain of self-awareness, the paradox of suffering, and the eerie beauty of mortality that unites us all. Brace yourself for a raw, unfiltered dive into topics that most avoid: the power of acceptance, the universality of death, and the liberating act of radical honesty. Ep 6: BDSM
BDSM? Not exactly what Rachel signed up for. ❤️🔥 A philosopher and a licensed therapist take a BDSM quiz... and the results are exactly as awkward (and hilarious) as you'd expect. Take it for yourself & report back.. don't be stingy. https://bdsmtest.org/ (https://bdsmtest.org/) Rachel quickly discovers she's about as vanilla as they come, while Quel ends up somewhere on the opposite end of the spectrum. What starts as comedy turns into a surprisingly thoughtful conversation about intimacy, shame, communication, trust, and the assumptions we make about sexuality. Whether you're deeply familiar with BDSM or just as clueless as Rachel, this episode isn't about convincing anyone of anything—it's about understanding people whose experiences differ from our own. Ep 4: Hook Line Sinker
IF THEY WANTED TO, THEY WOULD... RIGHT? This week we're picking a fight with the internet's favorite psychology phrases. "If they wanted to, they would" or "time heals all wounds". Some of these ideas are empowering. Some become excuses. And some sound profound until you actually have to live by them. A therapist and a philosopher attempt the impossible: deciding which self-help mantras deserve to stay, which deserve to die, and why nuance is so much harder than a catchy quote. Expect disagreements, uncomfortable questions, and the kind of conversations that don't fit neatly into a 15-second reel. If you've ever found yourself repeating advice from social media without stopping to ask whether it's actually true, this episode is for you.
