[…] They would just look at you like you were mad, you know, like, I can't print that. I think people are much more aware now of what the situation is, but the media is always lagging behind. But we also have to constantly fight against, you know, the perfect white professional woman victim, which none of us are, actually. And one of the ways it plays out in the criminal justice system is that you still face such prejudice about your sexual history, about if you've ever taken drugs or you were drunk or you've ever been in care. I mean, there are so many prejudices that are used against us in the criminal justice system, which then also get reported through the media that it's none of us is that perfect white victim. […]
