Clinical Reasoning, Wellbeing, and Trust: My Reflections on AMEE 2026
In this episode of MEET, I share my personal reflections from my online attending in The AMEE Conference 2026, held 22–26 August in Vienna, Austria, gathered around this year's theme, "Educators as Catalysts: Building the Future of Health."
I walk through three threads that stood out to me across the sessions I attended: how clinical reasoning is being taught and assessed in an era of AI-assisted decision-making, why learner and clinician wellbeing is finally being treated as a core competency rather than an afterthought, and what trust — between educators and learners, and between clinicians and patients — actually means for how we design assessments.

Canada's physician licensing system
Decoding Canada's MCC Annual Report
Exam reform, IMG pathways, and the data behind Canada's 2025–2026 physician licensing system.
In this monologue episode, I break down the Medical Council of Canada's 2025–2026 Annual Report — one of the most transparent, data-rich looks at how a national medical licensing body is trying to modernize under real workforce pressure.
We cover the redesign and renaming of the MCCQE, the surge in demand from international medical graduates, how Workplace-Based Assessment and Practice-Ready Assessment pathways are getting internationally trained physicians into practice faster, the new navigation resources built specifically for IMGs/ITPs — and the harder truth behind the numbers: pass rates for first-time IMG candidates dropped from 57% to 48% this year.
Whether you're an international medical graduate exploring Canada, a medical educator, or simply curious about how licensing systems evolve, this episode gives you the full picture — the wins and the tensions.

Work-based learning
In this episode, I tried to walk through the basics of Work-based learning(WBL), its advantages and disadvantages alongside my own point of view as an internal medicine resident.
For reading more about this topic, I highly recommend you to read the book "Essential Skills for a Medical Teacher" by Ronald Harden and Jennifer Laidlaw.
