Wat is de meerwaarde van oncologische zorg?
<p>Moeten we iedere patiënt behandelen als slechts 1 op de 100 hier baat bij heeft? Dus 99 patiënten niet. Hoe pikken we die ene eruit, en durven we de rest met rust te laten? Schilderen we naar onze patiënten de medische noodzaak niet mooier af dan dat die is? Deze week bespreken we deze lastige afweging met professor André Vis, uroloog en auteur van het artikel over de meerwaarde van oncologische zorg.</p><p>De tuchtzaak die we bespreken gaat over een arts die een arrestant offlabel methadon toediende. </p>

Psychiater Arjan Schröder over ADHD-diagnoses en smartphones
<p>Psychiater Arjan Schröder ziet een verband tussen toegenomen ADHD-diagnoses en smartphones, waarover hij recent een vlammend opinieartikel heeft geschreven in de Volkskrant. Hij stelt dat versnippering van aandacht door smartphones en social media de boosdoener is. Vorig jaar werd aan 377 duizend Nederlanders AHDH-medicatie voorgeschreven, een verviervoudiging in twintig jaar. Arjan pleit ervoor om zeker bij milde ADHD-klachten eerst mogelijke oorzaken (zoals schermtijd) te onderzoeken en te elimineren. Ook bespreken we de tuchtzaak van deze week van een oogarts die tien jaar na een plexusblokkade de anesthesioloog voor restklachten aanklaagde. </p>
