Each episode features real, unfiltered solo-segments and interviews with people who share their personal mental health journeys. I tackle everything from everyday stressors to the big topics that need unpacking.
Whether you're here to learn, laugh, cry or to feel a little less alone, Unpack That, Babe is your go-to space for honest talks and practical insights in a language you understand. Tune in and let's break the stigma together- no filters, just unpacking.
The host explores the crucial distinctions between establishing healthy boundaries and engaging in avoidance behaviors, particularly within BIPOC communities, to foster genuine emotional well-being.

EP 20: Why Can't I Accept Happiness?
Why does joy make us suspicious? Why do we brace ourselves for something bad the moment things start to go well? In this episode, I’m sharing a vulnerable journal entry and reflecting on how emotional conditioning, joy dysregulation, and lived trauma can distort our ability to enjoy peace and pleasure. From my own postpartum struggles to professional insights from my therapy practice, we’re exploring why we self sabotage, how our nervous system can confuse safety with danger, and what it means to gently shift from self doubt to self allowance.
This isn’t toxic positivity. This is real sh*t about the mental blocks that keep us from living fully, and how we can start rewriting those stories.
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t deserve this,” or waited for the other shoe to drop when life got good, this episode is perfect for you.

EP 19: Ask a Therapist- Part 2
I’m back from ATL and babyyy… The Black Effect Podcast Festival was everything! In this episode of Mental Health Uncut, I recap my solo trip to Atlanta, my experience pitching this very podcast, and all the Black creative energy that had me feeling like I was at the dopest family reunion ever.
But that’s not all, I get straight into Ask a Therapist Part 2. I’m answering some listener questions about severe depression, social anxiety, procrastination, loneliness, and feeling “behind” in life. We talk about the power of starting small, how antidepressants really work, and why being a late bloomer (emotionally, romantically, or sexually) is nothing to be ashamed of. And to my ladies in their 30s wondering why dating feels like a struggle even when you’ve got your life together? Yeah, I'm getting into that too.
This episode is a blend of therapist insight, real talk, and a whole lot of compassion. Whether you’re looking for mental health advice, inspiration to keep going, or just a reminder that you’re not alone this episode is for you.
