While Breaking Change is a (mostly) solo act, other shows are gracious enough to host Justin Searls from time to time. This feed mirrors all those appearances. Questions, concerns, invitations? podcast@searls.co
Matt Swanson had me back on YAGNI (https://yagni.fm) to talk about the fallout from DHH's Rails World keynote (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDjW_dRyKXY) and what it means for your weekend. We discuss what happens to the "one-person framework" when agents write the code, how frustrating it is when something is absolutely correct but still misses the point, and how I've accidentally constructed a dark factory with agents building and maintaining my iOS apps.
We also get into what I'd tell developers who are worried about where all this is heading and why World of Warcraft is my dark horse candidate to beat Grand Theft Auto 6 in November.

freeCodeCamp: Which Devs Are Screwed?
Quincy Larson (https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/author/quincy/) over at freeCodeCamp (https://www.freecodecamp.org) had me on their podcast to discuss how the rapidly changing software industry is impacting junior developers and what they can do about it. I don't normally spend time talking about this stuff, because I started programming in the 90s and can't claim to know anything about what it's like to just be starting now. I've also always discouraged people from getting into software development unless they're super passionate about it, which has been out of step with the "learn to code" hype train that gathered steam over the last fifteen years only to run into a brick wall recently.
His audience is way larger and composed of quite different people than those who follow my stuff, so I strongly recommend you read every last YouTube comment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hP931079TMw). Some pretty crazy shit, if I'm being honest. Makes me glad I don't have 11 million subscribers.
