"Everything around me became suddenly... unreal."
Midnight Hijack is a weekly podcast hosted by Jackie Dorset, with co-hosts Jermo, Melyssa and Aachman. It’s a talk show that moves between current events, politics, entertainment, philosophy, conspiracy theories and paranormal topics. Our sound is reminiscent of an era of analog broadcast intrusions, like the Max Headroom incident and the Captain Midnight HBO hijack. As the show develops, we plan to add open lines and live call-ins (just like Coast to Coast AM in the Art Bell days) so listeners can join in!
This week on Midnight Hijack: Jackie catches the crew up on his wisdom tooth removal and the usual chaos that came with the dentist. The conversation then turns to an old season one topic about drug use and people taking things when they are already in a bad place, which leads into an anecdote about large doses of Robitussin. From there, the crew goes over the Texas crime story of Big Lurch, before ending the episode on first crushes and romantic awakenings.

S02E04 - White People Sure Hate Chris Brown

We also get into reports about crypto use rising in criminal activity, plus the latest round of “AI is everywhere now” headlines and what that means in practical terms. Then we spend time on a debate around Chris Brown and Kobe Bryant, and a bigger question underneath these names: why certain public figures get singled out for permanent outrage, what “cancelled” even means anymore, and whether people should be allowed to screw up and still have a career. And we end with a small, ridiculous story out of England: a man arrested after spitting out a leaf that blew into his mouth.
