Price Vs Paris · House of Wax 1953 vs 2005 with Barely Legal & Maker's 46 Bourbons
Welcome back to Midnight Movie Distillery where we watch the movies you've heard about… and drink the whiskey that helps us have the arguments we love to have.
Tonight we're launching a new segment: Original vs Remake. Two versions of the same story, one recording, one long night. Kicking it off with House of Wax — Vincent Price's 1953 Warner Bros. classic (the first major-studio 3-D color feature; André de Toth directing with one eye) versus the 2005 Elisha Cuthbert / Chad Michael Murray / Paris Hilton reboot (Jaume Collet-Serra's directorial debut, Dark Castle producing). 52 years apart. Same studio. Same title. Barely the same movie.
Two spirits for a double feature: Dark Arts Whiskey House Barely Legal Barrel Strength and Maker's 46 Bourbon. One rougher, one polished — pairs the vibe of each film.
Big disagreement on the 2005 version. One of us went in the tank for it. Another walked out cold. You'll want to hear that one.
So pour yourself something strong… bring a friend to argue with… and let's see how a remake stands next to the original.
