Clue (1985) Review 🔪It Was Tim Curry, 🏠In the Mansion, 🎥 With the Entire Movie
This September eve brings many a gag, gasp, and giggle as we retrace our steps through the halls of Hill House and ask the important questions: WHO did it? WHERE? With WHAT? And most importantly… why is everyone in this movie serving so hard???This episode is brought to you in honor of Tim Curry and Dolly Parton. Icons. Divas. Artists. People who understood that subtlety is OPTIONAL.Join us as we revisit *Clue* a movie with approximately 47 murders, 900 doors, one deeply suspicious dinner party, and enough running through hallways to qualify as cardio.A murder mystery? A Knight's Tale (2001) Review 🏇🏻 Can a Man Chance His Stars?
HUZZAH! This week we are chancing our stars headfirst into A Knight's Tale (2001) — and honestly??? Some of us (cough cough AUTUMN!) were not prepared for how GOOD this movie is. A near perfect script (-1 for lack of jesters) top to bottom, a succinct story, heart, passion, courage, warm feelings and humor. A male fantasy high that somehow doesn't exclude anyone at the table. A love letter to the 2000s inexplicably set in medieval times. Heath Ledger said let them eat cake and somehow HE ate (get it??? like he ate that up) 🏇✨👑 Topics covered:Hot takes on the Elvis and the Priscilla movies (we got there eventually)Why this script is genuinely close to perfectThe casting, the heart, the humor and the chaosHow a medieval movie became the most 2000s thing ever madeWhy this is a male fantasy film that actually works for everyoneHeath Ledger (obviously) ( and Celeste maybe can't stop talking about Paul Bettany)🎥 What is Midnight Rentals? Two best friends. Beautiful actors, a non-linear timeline, time jumps, greek mythos, how will we stay on track?? spoiler: we don't...but we REALLY tried. 👁️⚡👻 Topics covered:The good, the bad and the beautiful casting choicesGreek mythology deep cuts (and shallow ones)What worked, what didn't, and what sent us completely off topicWhether this lives up to the Nolan legacy or dies trying📼 You can watch The Odyssey in theaters now if you want to watch along.
