IDENTITY CRISIS! W/ Coach Brooke Dawson

What if changing your life is not about changing your location, your job, your relationship, or the people around you? What if the real shift begins with the words you use after “I am”? In this episode of Mindset Matters More, I sit down with Brooke Dawson, identity and mindset coach, host of The Process with Brooke Dawson, and a powerful voice on language, identity, self-concept, and micro actions. This conversation is all about identity shifts, the language we use to define ourselves, and why moving across the world does not automatically make you a new person if you are still carrying the same internal story. Brooke shares her own experience of growing up as “the smart girl” and how that identity followed her all the way from Canada to Australia. Even though she thought a new environment would allow her to reinvent herself, she found herself recreating the same role because her identity had not actually changed. And that is the heart of this conversation. You can change the scenery. You can change the friend group. You can change the city. You can change the job. But if you do not change the identity you are operating from, you may keep recreating the same pattern in a new place. In this episode, we talk about: What identity really means Why your identity is shaped by the words that come after “I am” How self-deprecating language becomes part of your subconscious programming Why “I’m just joking” does not always protect you from the impact of your words How to use the word “yet” to create possibility Why micro actions create powerful identity shifts How to stop defining yourself through limitation Why awareness has to come before change How to audit your self-talk Why massive identity shifts can sometimes feel unsafe to the nervous system How small actions create evidence for a new version of you Why comparison can be reframed into possibility How “third-degree mentors” through books, podcasts, and online content can expand what you believe is possible Why language, action, and identity work together How Brooke’s singing lesson completely changed the story she had about her voice Why the smallest moment can create a massive internal shift One of my favorite parts of this conversation is Brooke’s definition of identity: Identity is any word that comes after “I am.” I am bad at this. I am not a morning person. I am indecisive. I am not good at cooking. I am not a runner. I am an alto, so I cannot hit that note. Those statements may seem small, funny, or harmless, but they become instructions. And the beautiful part is that you can begin shifting those instructions. You can say: I am not a morning person yet. I am learning how to wake up earlier. I am becoming someone who follows through. I am willing to try. I am giving myself permission to be bad at something while I learn. This is where identity work becomes practical. Not by forcing a massive overnight transformation. But through tiny actions, new language, and building evidence that a new version of you is possible. This conversation is for anyone who feels like there is more available to them, but also feels stuck in the story of “that’s just not me.” Because maybe it is not that the thing is unavailable to you. Maybe you have just been speaking from an old identity. Abracadabra: Wishes Fulfilled by Dr. Wayne Dyer w/Andy

Absolutely. Here’s the YouTube description for your first Self-Help Book Junkie video on Wishes Fulfilled by Dr. Wayne Dyer. Welcome back to Self-Help Book Junkie. Today, we are starting a brand-new series on Wishes Fulfilled: Mastering the Art of Manifesting by Dr. Wayne Dyer. And let me just say, after finishing Be Useful by Arnold Schwarzenegger, this book is taking us in a very different direction. We are moving from the practical, grounded, action-based side of manifestation into the spiritual, energetic, and more esoteric side of manifestation. But here is what I want you to know: This is still not about abracadabra manifestation. This is not about sitting on the couch, thinking happy thoughts, and expecting a million dollars to magically appear at your front door. That is not manifestation. Manifestation requires thought. It requires belief. It requires openness. It requires divine inspiration. It requires action. It requires you to become available for something greater. In this video, we talk about: Why Wishes Fulfilled is such a powerful book on manifestation Why manifestation is not magic in the way most people misunderstand it How Wayne Dyer brings us into the spiritual side of manifesting Why partnering with God, the I AM presence, or a power greater than yourself matters Why you are not the source of creation, but you can become a conduit for it How divine inspiration comes through when you are open to possibility Why manifestation is not about forcing one specific outcome How limiting the “how” can block the manifestation Why there are infinite ways your desire can come into your life Why being open is more powerful than trying to control every detail How Be → Do → Have connects to spiritual manifestation Why you still have to take inspired action One of the biggest lessons in this video is that you cannot pigeonhole God. You cannot decide there is only one way your desire can arrive and then call that manifestation. If you say, “The million dollars has to show up this exact way,” you have already eliminated almost every other possibility. But when you open yourself to divine inspiration and say, “I am available to receive this in whatever way God wants to bring it through me,” everything changes. You may receive an idea. You may meet a person. You may get an opportunity. You may feel called to take a trip. You may hear a sentence that changes your life. You may be led toward the exact action that opens the door. That is manifestation. Not sitting still. Not controlling every outcome. Not pretending you are God. But becoming the conduit, the channel, the vessel, the straw, the tube through which divine energy can move from the unseen into the seen. This series is going to stretch your mind, your faith, your imagination, and your understanding of what manifestation really is. So come with an open heart. Come with discernment. Come with curiosity. And most importantly, come ready to engage with the book. The Positive Lens Is Not Toxic Positivity

Welcome back to Self-Help Book Junkie, where we are finishing our review of Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life by Arnold Schwarzenegger. In this final video, we are talking about one of the most powerful mindset shifts you can make: the lens you choose to see life through. Because every day, we give our time, energy, attention, and emotional capacity to things we cannot control. We complain. We worry. We replay traffic. We doom scroll. We read things that make us angry. We carry one negative moment into the rest of the day. And the question is: How much of your life are you giving away to negativity? This matters deeply when it comes to manifestation. Because the lens you choose affects what you notice, what you expect, how you respond, what you create, and what you allow yourself to receive. In this video, we talk about: Why negativity steals time from your dreams How complaining, worrying, and doom scrolling drain your energy What it means to see life through a positive or negative lens Why your perspective shapes your manifestation How two people can look at the same situation and experience it completely differently Why seeing the good is not the same as pretending nothing hurts How to zoom out when you cannot understand why something happened Why challenges can still carry lessons, protection, redirection, or growth How forgiveness, reframing, and perspective can transform your energy Why living in optimism feels different in your body than living in fear How your emotional state impacts what you create next Why shifting your mindset can shift your destiny This is not about denying pain. It is not about pretending bad things never happen. It is not about toxic positivity. It is about understanding that the meaning you attach to an experience determines how long that experience gets to live inside of you. One lens says: “This is bad. I hate this. This should not have happened. I never want to go through this again.” Another lens says: “This hurts. This is hard. I do not understand it yet. But somehow, I believe something good can still come from this.” Both acknowledge reality. But only one gives you your power back. When you choose the positive lens, you are not saying everything feels good. You are saying: I refuse to let this moment steal more of my life than it already has. That shift changes your energy. It changes your vibration. It changes what you can see. It changes what you can receive. And in manifestation, that matters. Because the more time you spend feeding negativity, the more you train your mind, body, and spirit to expect more of it. But when you practice looking for the lesson, the blessing, the redirection, the growth, or the higher meaning, you begin living from a completely different state. You begin shortening the distance between who you are now and what you are trying to create. This final video is about choosing your lens. Not because life is always easy. But because your energy is sacred. Your time is sacred. Your dream is sacred. And you do not have to hand it over to every negative thought, headline, inconvenience, fear, or frustration that crosses your path. Please support the author by buying the book, borrowing it from your local library, listening to the audiobook, or reading it in whatever way works for you.
