Mining the Media is not your typical talk radio, shout radio, or even listen radio. We ask smart questions, provide informative answers, and are forward thinking.
This is THINK radio!
Friend of the show and intelligence analyst Lance Fairchok joins G.K. and Dave for this episode of Mining the Media.
G.K. kicks things off by asking Lance and Dave for their thoughts on the terrorist suspect arrested on a U.S. air base in the United Kingdom and the continuing withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.
Then Lance takes an in-depth look at Iran and the challenges facing the country as a functioning nation. But the conversation turns to the question hanging over the weeks ahead: Will there be an "October Surprise" before the midterm elections—and, if so, what might it look like?

The Prince of Peace and the Failure of the United Nations
G.K. opens Mining the Media with six quick TPs, beginning with President Trump's Greenland deal and a comparison to the Louisiana Purchase. He warns Republicans against allowing candidate purity to keep them from voting, previews the controversy surrounding transgender gold-medal athletes competing against women, and looks at oil and gas prices across recent administrations. G.K. also discusses Sen. Rand Paul's continued pursuit of Dr. Anthony Fauci, questions Sen. Tom Cotton's opposition, and argues Republicans should put Hasan Piker and Sharia law front and center in their political messaging.
Then Dave steps into Crusty's Corner to examine the United Nations: the noble intentions behind its creation, the lessons of the failed League of Nations, and the UN's actual effectiveness more than eight decades later. Can an organization made up of sovereign nations pursuing their own national interests ever deliver lasting international peace? Dave argues that diplomacy and international institutions may restrain conflict, but they cannot change the human heart—and that genuine world peace can never come without the Prince of Peace.

Who Guards the Guardians?
Mining the Media opens with G.K. paying tribute to legendary pop artist Peter Max, whose bold, colorful work helped define the visual culture of the 1960s. G.K. reflects on the beauty and value of Max's art and recalls the opportunity to see his work displayed in a gallery.
From art, G.K. turns to deception—and a story involving Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. G.K. discusses reported comments attributed to Talarico's pastor suggesting that the image Talarico presents during the general-election campaign may not reflect how he would govern if elected. Dave responds that there's "nothing new under the sun," connecting the discussion to political strategy and Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.
Then Dave opens Crusty's Corner: "Who Guards the Guardians?" Newly released FBI records raise questions about agents who sought investigations involving Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Dave examines Crossfire Hurricane, the Carter Page FISA failures, the Durham investigation, investigative guardrails, and the danger of allowing political preference to influence government power.
