AI Consilium: An LLM Judge Scores 3,040 Clinical Second Opinions
AI Consilium (arXiv:2610.22298, 15 October 2026) benchmarks eight single-model pipelines on 190 held-out NEJM-MedQA cases. The structured format raises the mean score in seven of the eight pipelines, with the clearest gain in clinical management (2.740 versus 2.436), and GPT-5.6-Sol leads on every component. All 3,040 final reports are scored by a single LLM judge calibrated on 110 physician-rated cases, so the ranking is only as sound as that calibration.

Under 1% Poisoned Data Hijacks Generative Recommenders
An arXiv paper posted on October 10, 2026 finds that in generative recommender systems built on autoregressive decoding, less than 1% synthetic interactions significantly boosts promotion of a target item under a trigger, using only black-box API access. The AlignPoison method uses short prefixes aligned with the model's decoding and improves attack success by up to 16.3 percentage points over baselines. The abstract is silent on datasets, average values and defenses, and the results come from academic benchmarks.

Stanford HAI study finds most Claude chats involve serious work
Stanford researchers, backed by HAI, analyzed a quarter of a million anonymized conversations with Claude using Anthropic's Insights tool. They found that 56% of collaborations are rated "consequential" or higher, and conversations about serious tasks last almost twice as long. The public announcement doesn't give the exact sample, the breakdown by level or the classification method, so the figure comes from real-world use but the method still has to be checked in the paper accepted by Nature Human Behaviour.
