Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze - Full Commentary
In this episode of Miscast Commentary, hosts Joe Findlay and Todd “T-BO the Sailor” Murray press play on the delightfully strange sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze and take listeners along for a full, unfiltered watch-through of the 1991 cult classic.
What follows is a lively, nostalgia-charged commentary that bounces between scene-by-scene reactions, childhood memories of the original turtle craze, and plenty of good-natured roasting of the movie’s quirks. Joe and Tod revisit the era when the turtles ruled pop culture, reflect on the impressive practical suits created by the team connected to Jim Henson, and debate whether this sequel captures the same magic as the original film.
Along the way they dive into everything that makes Secret of the Ooze unforgettable: the toned-down action, the arrival of new characters, the oddball villains, the infamous mutation storyline, and the larger-than-life debut of Super Shredder. Expect plenty of behind-the-scenes trivia, childhood nostalgia, and the kind of riffing that only happens when two longtime friends revisit a movie they grew up with.
Whether you’re syncing up the film and watching along or just here for the laughs, this episode is a pizza-powered trip back to the early ’90s and one of the most talked-about sequels in turtle history. Grab a slice, hit play, and get ready for a commentary filled with nostalgia, jokes, and a deep dive into the secret… of the ooze. 🧪🍕🐢
