Misia wordt opgesloten in een gouden kooi. De eeuwwisseling is het einde van een tijdperk. Het oeverloze optimisme wordt vervangen door sociale onrust en de kunst wordt duister en existentieel. De groep bohemiens valt uit elkaar en Misia hertrouwt met een schatrijke krantenmagnaat. Ze geniet van de bodemloze luxe en glamour. Maar de perverse affaires van haar man worden breed uitgesmeerd in de roddelpers. Misia wordt vervangen door een jonge actrice. Ze geeft zich echter niet zomaar gewonnen.

1. De wilde jaren vol vrijheid
De onweerstaanbare Misia wordt een muze. Ze groeit op in een kunstzinnig milieu in Brussel. Als kleindochter van de wereldberoemde cellist Adrien François Servais toont ze talent om zelf een concertpianiste te worden. Maar Misia trouwt en verhuist met haar man naar Parijs. Samen verzamelen ze denkers, decadenten en kunstenaars om zich heen met Misia als epicentrum in haar salon. Met de schilder Toulouse-Lautrec beleeft ze dolle avonturen en ze maakt lange wandelingen met de dichter Mallarmé.
