After more than twenty years in supported employment and consulting with mission-driven organizations, Ryan saw capable, committed people repeatedly stall inside organizations that cared deeply about their missions but weren't built to develop self-direction. At its core, that's a learning problem.
He also shares where his own self-direction journey, and the book, really began: in a grocery store, with one memorable customer, some apples, and one incorrect produce code.
