Ryder served in Ecuador and St. Louis, Missouri. After just one transfer, he unexpectedly found himself back home, facing some difficult decisions and an uncertain future.
His story is truly one of beauty for ashes. During the six months he spent at home, Ryder experienced the healing and transforming power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in a deeply personal way.
When he returned to the mission field, he was a force to be reckoned with. His renewed commitment to hard work, obedience, and the Lord allowed him to move mountains in His name. Ryder’s story is a powerful reminder that setbacks do not have to define us—and that through Jesus Christ, we can return stronger, more converted, and more determined than ever before.

Dane Overson : What Samoa Taught Me About Charity
Dane served for two years as a full-time missionary in Samoa. During his time there, he came to understand the true meaning of charity—not just as something we talk about, but something we live.
He experienced charity personally during some of the difficult seasons of his mission, as others reached out to love and support him. He also witnessed it throughout the Samoan communities, where people consistently treated one another with kindness, respect, and the pure love of Christ.
Those experiences left a lasting impression on Dane and gave him a clear vision of the kind of man he wants to become—especially in the way he leads, loves, and serves within his own home and community.
