Welcome to the Mission City Church Podcast — where you’ll find weekly messages that inspire, challenge, and equip you to live the life God has called you to. Join us each week as Pastor Phil brings encouraging, practical, and Bible-based sermons straight from the heart of Mission City Church in St. Augustine, Florida. Whether you’re part of our local community or listening from afar, we believe these messages will help you grow in faith and discover the hope and purpose found in Jesus.
In Joshua 3, the Israelites stood at the edge of the Jordan River facing a path they had never traveled before. God called them to keep their eyes on Him, consecrate themselves, and step forward in faith.
In “The Road Not Traveled,” we’re reminded that God goes before us into every unknown season. When the way forward feels uncertain or even impossible, faith means trusting His direction, preparing our hearts, and being willing to step into the water before we see the miracle.

It’s Not Where You Start | Joshua 2
Rahab’s story reminds us that our lives are not defined by where we start, but by how we respond to God. In Joshua 2, an unlikely woman hears what God has done, believes that He alone is God, and acts in faith. Her past didn’t disqualify her from God’s grace—and neither does ours. Discover how God saves, restores, and uses ordinary, broken people who seek Him in faith.

The Courage to Obey | Joshua 1:7–9
In Joshua 1:7–9, God commands Joshua to be strong and courageous—but He also shows him where that strength comes from. Joshua is called to know God’s Word, meditate on it, and faithfully obey it.
In this message, Pastor Phillip challenges us to redefine success according to God’s standard: walking closely with Jesus, faithfully leading those God has entrusted to us, and making disciples who make disciples. As we allow God’s Word to shape our thoughts and actions, He gives us the courage to do what He has called us to do.
Whatever God is asking of you today, be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or discouraged—the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
