This series is meant to bring biracial people together and create a space for those who didn't feel like they otherwise had one. Both Quinn and Allye have struggled with their identity over the years and this passion project has become a place for both of them to grow and learn more about themselves and to feel connected to something or someone in a way they hadn't before. Being biracial isn't always easy, and not everyone has a space to talk about. So they made one.
This episode is over a year late. But everyone.. MEET MY BOSS. Timothy is the first man that we are having on the podcast and I couldn't be more delighted. He is incredibly intelligent and insightful in ways I couldn't even imagine. I knew shifting our conversation from renewable energy to race and identity would open my eyes to a whole lot. And it did. Why is it so similar?
Hey everyone! In this special episode of "Mixed Feelings," I sit down with one of my best friends, Leia Felicilda. Leia is half Hawaiian Native Pacific Islander, and this is a milestone for the podcast—it’s the first time I’m chatting with someone who isn’t mixed with black and white.
Leia’s perspective was a revelation for me. Even though our backgrounds are different, our experiences growing up in predominantly white spaces felt eerily similar. It was incredible to see how much we had in common, and it just goes to show that many biracial kids face the same challenges and joys, no matter their specific ethnic mix.
We laughed, we got deep, and we shared stories that made us both realize we’re not alone in this journey. I loved every moment of our conversation, and I think you will too.
