Finale: Get into the Game
<p>In the fall of 2016, I first came across "Money, Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom" by Tony Robbins. This is the book that triggered my investing obsession which led me from having $1,900 in a checking account to building a portfolio worth just over six figures which pays me dividends of $1,300 a month. </p> <p>Before I finished listening to the book I knew that if more people were aware of how long term, diversified investing worked, they would be doing it. That’s why I decided to summarize some of my favorite investing books in podcast form, so that more people, could in fact learn how it worked. </p> <p>I could make a dozen more episodes about investing but the principles wouldn’t change. That’s why I decided to make this review of my favorite investing book the finale of my DIY investing podcast. </p> <p> </p>

<p>In this episode, I describe the habits of wealthy Americans as outlined in "The Millionaire Next Door," By Thomas Stanley and William Danko and "The Next Millionaire Next Door," by Thomas Stanley and Sarah Stanley Fallaw. I also touch on some factors described in the "The Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housal. As I describe the habits and mindsets of most American millionaires, I relate them to my own investing strategy and offer suggestions as to what kind of investment vehicles will grow for us DIY investors. </p>

<p>Hey all you future millionaires,</p> <p>Most of what I know about investing comes from the many books I've listened to and read about the subject. Among the most important was "The Automatic Millionaire" by David Bach. In this episode I commentate on the book's core principles and how I have used them in building my own investing portfolio. I talk about how small but frequent expenses can add up to big bucks if saved and invested. I also describe 401ks, traditional and Roth IRAs and brokerage accounts. If you automate your savings and investing, your portfolio, your wealth will build itself over time.</p>
