<p>In our fourth episode, we meet with young entrepreneur Olivia Puri Negri, funder of the eco-friendly and organic brand of tampons "HelloSerena." After earning an economics degree at Bocconi University, Olivia decided to move to Paris where she started working for a fashion start-up. She soon realized that what she wanted to do was to start her own brand and "HelloSerena" was born. The idea behind it was to normalize menstruation by creating a product that would make periods part of every woman's own beauty routine rather than a struggle that has to remain hidden at all costs. In this episode, we cover a variety of topics, ranging from the tampon tax and personal anecdotes on menstruation to how to empower women to make more informed decisions about their own menstrual hygiene products.</p>

<p>Welcome back to The Podcast Series! In Episode #2, we learn from Professor Amanda Bashi of Cornell Law School the different impacts that the American criminal justice system has on anyone who identifies as a woman.</p> <p>Amanda Bashi’s work is seated at the intersection of criminal law, family law, and trauma. She is the Trauma-Informed Staff Attorney at Advocacy Center of Tompkins County, where she provides holistic legal services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Amanda created the Women’s Decarceration Practicum at Cornell Law School, through which she teaches law students to advocate for incarcerated survivors of gender-based violence. Amanda is a former federal public defender and her work freed a dozen prisoners from living death sentences and returned more than 10,000 months of freedom to men and women over-punished during America’s failed drug war. She is an expert in postconviction law and reentry advocacy, and in 2016 she was invited to President Obama’s White House for her work on executive commutations and reentry. Amanda co-authored the Illinois State Bar Association’s Post-Conviction Manual, and co-founded The Decarceration Collective, a criminal justice advocacy non-profit.</p>
