Luffy Finally Beats Crocodile | Alabasta Pt 5 (199-211) | MTOP #20
Chapters 199–211, Alabasta Part 5: Luffy finally beats Crocodile, but winning the fight is only one piece of saving Alabasta.
This week on More Than One Piece, we continue the Alabasta Arc with Volumes 22 and 23. Afo and Keyser react to Luffy’s final round against Sir Crocodile, debate whether Luffy is becoming a smarter fighter, dig deeper into Nico Robin and Pluton, race the clock with the Straw Hats to find Crocodile’s bomb, and discover that even defeating a Warlord is not enough to stop a civil war already in motion.
In this episode:
• Luffy vs. Crocodile, Round Three: Keyser’s water theory pays off, but Luffy takes it further with Water Luffy, his own blood, a near-mummified comeback, and one of his wildest counters yet.
• Crocodile, Nico Robin & Pluton: Robin says the Poneglyph contains Alabasta’s history, not Pluton. Crocodile immediately turns on her, raising bigger questions about why Robin worked with him and what she is really searching for.
• King Cobra’s Last Stand: Rather than give Crocodile what he wants, Cobra is willing to bring the royal tomb down around all of them.
• The Clock Tower Countdown & Pell’s Choice: The crew races to find the bomb, Mr. 7 and Miss Father’s Day stand in the way, and even stopping the cannon is not the end of Crocodile’s plan.
• “It’s Not Enough”: Luffy wins, but the fighting continues. Vivi screams for both sides to hear her, the rain finally returns, and Cobra refuses to let Alabasta remain trapped in everything it lost.
• Straw Hat Resilience: Senkei asks whether One Piece pushes its characters too far. We debate plot armor, suspension of disbelief, and why the emotional lessons still land in such a fantastical world.
• Predictions & Theories: Will Robin travel with the Straw Hats? Will Vivi stay behind? Where does Smoker stand? What is Mr. 2 planning? Afo keeps his Tashigi/Kuina theory alive, and Keyser makes one Usopp prediction Afo cannot forgive.
