"Morir Soñando Comedy" is created by first-generation Dominican- New Yorkers besties Glorelys Mora and Sasha Merci. The podcast centers on centers on entrepreneurship, the pursuit of big dreams, and the journey to achieving them. Blending humor with their vibrant personalities and personal life experiences, Glorelys and Sasha will go into the highs and lows of being self-made and discuss pursuing one's goals. The podcast also addresses issues vital to the Dominican, Caribbean, and American communities—and ultimately, to all who are in the pursuit of following their dreams.
Sasha and Glory are back in the studio, and this week, they're talking about pregnancy scares, breaking generational cycles, the things their parents never taught them, and somehow, the zodiac signs of NYC subway trains. 🚇😭
What starts as Glory questioning Sasha's mysterious glow and sudden lack of interest in drinking quickly turns into a pregnancy investigation. With pregnancy tests on standby and some questionable Dominican pregnancy-detection methods, the two begin imagining what motherhood might look like.
But the conversation gets deeper as Sasha and Glory reflect on the lessons they wish they'd learned growing up. From financial literacy and emotional regulation to the difference between protecting your children and sheltering them, they discuss how parenting shapes the adults we become. Even Gilmore Girls makes its way into the conversation as they unpack generational differences in raising children.
They also revisit the ridiculous things their families taught them about sex and pregnancy (apparently sperm can jump?! 😭), the consequences of growing up without honest conversations, and how family secrets and strict parenting can affect relationships well into adulthood.
Glory opens up about wanting to become a mother while accepting that it might not be in her future. She reflects on the emotional labor women take on in relationships, the pressure to find the right partner, and why she's no longer interested in raising a grown man.
And then, because it's Morir Soñando, things take a completely different turn. 🚇
Sasha and Glory debate NYC's best and worst subway trains, from defending the A train to questioning the reliability of the G, F, and J lines. They even attempt to assign zodiac signs to the MTA, leading to a heated disagreement over whether the F train is a Pisces or a Gemini. ♓️

Had to unlearn things your family taught you

S2E16: Life Maxing, Parenting Our Parents & Trying to Have It Together
Sasha and Glory are back in the studio catching up on what adulthood looks like when you’re trying to get your life together, look put together, maximize your time — and somehow manage your family at the same time.
In this episode, Sasha and Glory get into “life maxing,” being high-maintenance so you can actually live low-maintenance, and the realization that getting older means putting a little more effort into looking like you have it all together. They talk about planning outfits ahead of time, finding ways to make everyday chores feel less miserable, and why a trip to the laundromat unexpectedly became a lesson in slowing down and taking care of the things that take care of you.
They also look back at the versions of themselves who could stay out all night, throw on a white T-shirt and jeans, and somehow still make it work. From Sasha’s days navigating New York nightlife to Glory wondering whether she can ever recreate that “bad bitch going to the club” feeling, they reflect on how getting older changes the way you socialize, get dressed and decide where your energy is actually worth spending.
And then there’s family.
After bringing their families along to recent events, Sasha and Glory realize that managing your parents might actually be another full-time job. Sasha shares what happened when a family outing to a major event ended with her uncle getting kicked out, while Glory remembers trying to coordinate her family while she was working. One innocent “What’s your ETA?” somehow turns into a conversation about a terrorist group — in front of everyone. 😭
Underneath the chaos, Sasha and Glory reflect on why sharing these experiences with their families matters in the first place. They talk about wanting the people who raised them to see the lives they’ve built, the strange ways family members show pride and gratitude, and what it means to give them access to experiences they may never have imagined for themselves.
If you’ve ever:
Tried to “life max” your way into having it together
Realized getting dressed somehow requires more effort than it used to
Turned a random chore into an entire philosophical experience
Brought your family somewhere nice and immediately regretted it
Had to explain an acronym to an older relative
Realized you might actually be parenting your parents
…this episode is for you.

S2E15: Did the VMAs Lose Their Magic? | Pop Stars, Boy Bands & Music Nostalgia
Sasha and Glory are going back to a time when the VMAs felt like the biggest night in pop culture, music videos were events, and becoming an MTV VJ felt like an actual career path. From the performances everyone talked about the next morning to the artists who made an entire generation stop and watch, they’re asking the question: did the VMAs lose their magic — or did growing up change the way we experience pop culture? In this episode, Sasha and Glory get into what happened to the pop star, whether record labels started prioritizing algorithms over actual talent, and why today’s award-show performances rarely feel as risky or unforgettable. They revisit the glory days of TRL, MTV Tres, 106 & Park, True Life and Becoming, while remembering the shows, videos and performers that shaped their childhoods. They also settle some of the most important debates of our time: Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC? Who was the real star of the Spice Girls? And which Britney Spears album belongs in the pop-music hall of fame? Sasha explains how *NSYNC slowly won her over with hit after hit, even if her heart still belongs to the Backstreet Boys. But underneath all the nostalgia is a deeper conversation about the way music holds our memories. Sasha and Glory reflect on the songs that instantly transport them to childhood, the hopeful futures they imagined while listening to 2010s festival music, and why adulthood can make the world feel smaller than it once did. They talk about reconnecting with their inner child, finding freedom again and remembering that nobody ever said grown women couldn’t wear glitter pants. And, of course, one conversation about the overwhelming state of the world somehow becomes a debate over whether anyone is still allowed to eat lettuce and cherries. 🥬🍒😭If you’ve ever:Waited all year for the VMAs Argued over Backstreet Boys versus *NSYNC Had one song unlock a memory you forgot you had Missed the version of yourself who felt endlessly hopeful about the future Needed permission to wear the glitter pants anyway …this episode is for you.Watch or listen to the full episode of Morir Soñando now on every podcast platform. 🎧💛 Join the Morir Soñando Patreon for early access, bonus content, and more chaotic conversations.
