Have you ever been in a conversation where someone sounded incredibly intelligent…right up until they opened their mouth?
Proverbs 17:28 gives us some surprisingly funny wisdom: even a fool can appear wise when he keeps quiet! We live in a world where everybody seems to have an opinion about everything. But sometimes wisdom isn't about having the right answer. It's about knowing when you don't need to answer at all.
You don't have to prove how much you know to everybody in the room. Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is simply listen.
Scripture: Proverbs 17:28
Today's Salty Thought:You don't have to say everything you know to prove you know something.
Today's Step:In one conversation today, intentionally listen longer than you speak. Don't spend the whole time preparing your response. Ask a question, learn something, and remember: You don't have to answer that!

Proverbs 18:17 | The Trouble With Being Right
Have you ever heard one side of a story and been absolutely convinced you knew who was right? Then you heard the other side, and suddenly things weren't quite so clear!
In Proverbs 18:17, Solomon reminds us that “The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.” It's amazing how quickly we can form opinions without knowing the whole story. And if we're honest, we're pretty good at telling our own stories in ways that make us look right, too.
Wisdom doesn't always mean having the right answer. Sometimes it means having the humility to admit we don't have all the information. God calls us to be quick to listen, slow to judge, and willing to see beyond our own perspective.
Scripture: Proverbs 18:17
Today’s Salty Thought:Just because you've heard a story doesn't mean you've heard the whole story.
Today’s Step:Before forming an opinion about someone today, pause and ask yourself: “What might I not know about this situation?” And if you're the one telling the story, make sure you're telling it fairly. Sometimes the wisest thing we can do is listen a little longer before deciding who's right.

Proverbs 26:13 | There’s a Lion in the Road!
Have you ever had a really good reason for not doing something you knew you needed to do?
In Proverbs 26:13, Solomon gives us one of the funniest excuses in Scripture: “There’s a lion in the road!” Sometimes the obstacles in front of us are real and require wisdom. But sometimes…there’s no lion. There’s just something we don’t want to do.
God doesn’t ask us to have the entire journey figured out. Sometimes faith simply means trusting Him enough to take the next step.
Scripture: Proverbs 26:13
Today’s Salty Thought:
Don’t invent a lion to excuse yourself from taking the next faithful step.
Today’s Step:
Think about something you’ve been putting off and ask yourself: “Is there really a lion in the road?” If there’s a legitimate reason to wait, honor it. But if there isn’t, trust Jesus and take one faithful step today.
