Mosaic Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ through the core values of worship, community and mission in a multiethnic, multigenerational context.
Most of us know more than we actually do.
We know we should listen before reacting. Forgive instead of holding on. Make the call to have the challenging conversation. Do the thing we keep saying we’ll eventually do.
Knowing usually isn’t the hardest part. And maybe the same can be true of faith.
In Faith Obeys, Pastor Alvin walks through James 1:19–27 and considers the subtle difference between being familiar with what God says and allowing what He says to actually shape the way we live.
Because it’s possible to hear something so often that we assume hearing it has changed us. It’s possible to know the language, agree with the truth, and still never ask the uncomfortable question:
What am I actually doing with what I’ve heard?
Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, you’re still figuring out what you believe, or you’ve wondered what faith is supposed to look like beyond a church service, James gives us something worth considering.
Maybe the distance between the person we think we are and the person we’re actually becoming is smaller than we realize. Or maybe it isn’t.

Faith Endures :: Alvin Brown | Faith That Works
What happens to faith when life stops cooperating or going as we planned for it to go?
It’s one thing to trust God when life makes sense. It’s another when the diagnosis comes, the relationship breaks, the pressure builds, or the future suddenly looks nothing like you expected.
In Faith Endures, Pastor opens James 1 and wrestles with a question most of us eventually face: Can I really trust God here?
James doesn’t offer easy answers or pretend pain doesn’t hurt. Instead, he invites us to consider what difficult seasons reveal about us, what they reveal about the things we trust, and whether our circumstances should get the final word about who God is.
Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, you’re unsure what you believe, or life has simply left you with more questions than answers, this message is an invitation to bring those questions with you.
After all, sometimes the hardest seasons don’t just test what we believe.
They reveal what we’re building our lives on.

Whatever Rules Your Heart :: Alvin Brown | One Verse That Changed My Life
Some things don’t look like they’re in control.
Like how worry can feel like responsibility. Or perhaps, how control can feel like wisdom. Sometimes, whether we know it or not, chasing what’s next can simply feel like life.
But, truth be told, what occupies our minds can quietly take hold of our hearts.
In Whatever Rules Your Heart, Pastor Alvin reflects on Matthew 6:25–33 and a familiar verse that became deeply personal: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness…”
Through his own struggle with worry and control, Pastor Alvin illuminates his wrestling with the difference between knowing about God and actually trusting Him when life feels uncertain—as likely most of us experience in our life’s journey.
Whether you follow Jesus, are figuring out what you believe, or are simply tired of carrying so much, take this moment to journey with us to look beneath what we’re feeling and consider what may be happening deeper within.
