[…] Okay. Okay. So Andrew Adams was locked up in July of 1979. He had been arrested for a number of rapes that occurred in New Bern. This time he was sentenced to 20 years, which is better than the four he was originally sentenced. Yes. And they kept him in prison for as long as possible. And this was not in the episode, but I do think it is important. So on Friday, July 13th, 1979, Adams was convicted of three counts of assault with the intent to commit rape and one count of rape in the first degree in Wilmington. He confessed to rapes in Wilmington and in New Bern. He served 33 years in prison, having additional time added to his sentence after he cut a fellow inmate's face with a razor blade in 1999. […]
