Pastors, Prophets, and Prompts: The Ethical Boundaries of AI and the Christian Faith

🎙️ Mostly Focused: Pastors, Prophets, and Prompts This week, Jonathan, Garrett, Zach, and JP sit down to wrestle with one of the hottest topics in ministry today: AI in the Church. From sermon prep to spiritual authority, from ethics to the image of God, we ask the real questions: Is AI a helpful tool or just a crutch for “microwave sermons”? How should pastors help their people spot truth from convincing but hollow claims? Where do transparency and trust come into play if leaders start leaning on machines? And what makes human creativity and spiritual conviction different from what AI can produce? Along the way, we reflect on how technology shaped our church experiences in the ‘90s and early 2000s, laugh at the quirks of growing up in that era, and ground the whole conversation in Scripture—from Ecclesiastes to Acts to Genesis. Whether you’re a pastor, a church leader, or just a believer curious about how faith and tech intersect, this episode digs into the wisdom, the warnings, and the wonder of navigating AI in ministry. 👀 Come for the big questions, stay for the banter, and leave with a renewed sense of how God’s Word still grounds us in a world of new tools and old temptations.

   Friends: The One About Friendship

🎙️ Mostly Focused: Biblical Friendship In this heartfelt and honest episode of Mostly Focused, we dive into a question that hits close to home: What does real friendship look like—especially through a biblical lens? Over the course of two hours, we unpack our own stories, reflect on the friendships that shaped us, and explore what Scripture teaches about connection, loyalty, and grace. 🟢 Segment 1: IntroductionWe start by sharing why this topic matters to each of us and why friendship isn’t just important—it’s essential. 🟠 Segment 2: The FoundationBefore the Bible, there were playgrounds, awkward middle school hangouts, and lifelong bonds. We reflect on how we learned about friendship growing up—and whether we’ve truly learned how to be good friends at all. 🔵 Segment 3: Biblical StuffFrom David and Jonathan to Jesus and His disciples, we look at biblical models of friendship and discuss what sets a godly connection apart from cultural expectations. What does it really mean to love, serve, and walk alongside someone as Christ did? 🔴 Segment 4: The ChallengesFriendship is beautiful—but it’s also hard. We get honest about loss, conflict, boundaries, and growth, asking: When do we fight for a friendship, and when do we let it go? 🟣 Segment 5: Past, Present, FutureFriendship in adulthood doesn’t come easy. We talk about how to form meaningful bonds as believers, how leadership and church life affect relationships, and how past experiences shape the kind of friend we hope to become. ⚪ Segment 6: Final Reflections & TakeawaysWe close by sharing how God is challenging us to be better friends and why we believe biblical friendship is worth pursuing—even when it’s hard. 👥 Whether you're craving deeper friendships or wrestling with relational wounds, this episode invites you to reflect, grow, and lean into the kind of friendship that honors God and heals the soul.
