Disney Movie Eras: the Bronze era (Part 2: The Dark Ages)
Amanda and Janette discuss the second four movies in the Disney Animation Era of the Bronze Era! In this episode they cover the first four movies including the The Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, and Oliver and Company. Some consider the latter half of the Bronze Era to be the Dark Ages of the Disney Animation studio, as the studio was still looking for their footing post Walt Disney's passing in 1966. The Bronze Era produced some great films, but not all of them have stood the test of time and are remembered like other Disney films. Which movie in the Bronze Era is your favorite? Make sure to listen to Part 2 of this podcast to hear about the second half of the movies in this era, as well as how the animation studio slowly transitions in a post-Walt world. Disney Movie Eras: the Bronze era (Part 1)
Amanda and Janette discuss the first four movies in the Disney Animation Era of the Bronze Era! In this episode they cover the first four movies including the Aristocats, Robin Hood, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and The Rescuers. This era of Disney animated movies takes place right after Walt Disney's passing in 1966, so for the first time ever the animation studio had to navigate without their fearless leader. This led to some interesting animation and business choices, as well as friction between the younger animators and the older animators. Make sure to listen to Part 2 of this podcast to hear about the second half of the movies in this era, as well as how the animation studio slowly transitions in a post-Walt world.
