The Mothers Unleashed LA Podcast is a spin off of the live Mothers Unleashed events hosted four times a year in Los Angeles, California. Mothers share stories weighing on their hearts surrounding all things motherhood. Some mothers choose to share their workshopped stories on the podcast, others do not. Regardless, insights, laughs, and maybe a few tears are had. Enjoy!
In this episode, Tamar sits back and lets her husband, Eric Horowitz, interview her! They talk all things storytelling, on the lack of control in parenthood, the myth of "right" or "wrong" parenting styles, and even about hierarchical modeling.
Tamar Feinkind is a screenwriter, community organizer and mom to three living in Leimert Park, Los Angeles. She graduated from Northwestern as a pre-med theater major, and just recently put her love of science and art together with the heartwarming medical drama, THE SYNDROME, which is currently in preproduction. A published and produced writer, Tamar’s socially relevant scripts sprout from growing up in a culturally Jewish home and have placed or finaled in numerous contests. Tamar also founded and currently runs the storytelling workshop and podcast Mothers Unleashed LA, and she formerly helped run the theater company Fresh Produced LA. Tamar holds an MFA in Screenwriting from Stephens College.

Tina, a native Southern Californian, worked for 34 years as a flight attendant living in New York City, Chicago and San Francisco. Tina has met celebrities, musicians, politicians and even a King and Queen! She and her husband of 40 years have spent a lifetime crisscrossing the globe collecting stories, cultures, and a deep appreciation for people wherever they go. When she’s not traveling, she channels that creativity into her Etsy shop, where her imagination and hands-on talent really shine. Known for her warm personality, adventurous spirit, and a big heart, she loves making memories as much as she loves exploring the world. Perhaps her greatest adventure is being a hands-on grandma to eleven grandchildren.

Baila Drucker and Working Inside Out
Our first ever podcast! Baila and Tamar talk about Baila's story that she wrote for our Mothers Unleashed event where she wrote an incredible letter to her estranged son. The conversation moves into confronting and accepting our own impostor syndrome ("Hello old friend!"), building resilient children by working inside out on ourselves as parents, and of course we get into the toxicity of social media.

Born eighth into a family of 14, Baila started her own at 18. Twenty years later, she is mother to two strong-willed young men and stepmother to three pretty strong-willed little kids. Baila is an innovator with a million big ideas and a crippling procrastination problem who has somehow become an educator and therapist. For more than two decades she has been helping people heal and thrive and studying why and how they do. Most recently, she launched the Loving Leadership Academy for parents and is writing two books.
