Part 2
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is just get started. Taking the first step toward any new adventure takes hope and confidence. The hope is, what you are doing will make a difference, and the confidence comes from, knowing that you are up for the challenge.
At the turn of every new calendar year people will make new year’s resolutions and many of those resolutions will revolve around fitness. People will start a running routine or join a gym or yoga classes. Then after about two weeks the drive and determination start to fade and slowly, they stop trying.
Over my 20 plus years of running I have learned that the key to staying consistent is making your goals a priority. In this second part on running, I explain and share some of the things that have kept me inspired and driven me to continue pushing even when I have had to take temporary breaks due to injuries.
I feel like this week’s information is exactly what every armature runner can use and if you have never considered making running a part of your lifestyle then maybe this episode will give you the confidence to get started.

How To Begin Your Running Journey
How To Begin Your Running Journey: Tips Everyone Should Know Before Starting A Running Regimen.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
~ Laozi
Part 1
Every new adventure we decide to embark upon, we will have plenty of learning curves. When I started out running, I thought to myself, how hard can it be? You just hit the road or the treadmill, and you go. To a great extent this thought process isn’t wrong, but the deeper truth is, there are a lot of things that a person should know if they want to grow and push their limits.
I decided to break this information up into two episodes. In this week’s episode I dive into the do’s and do not’s of preparing for a race. Beyond the training, there are plenty of things that play into a person’s ability to achieve their goals and get better with each run.
I give a breakdown of what clothing items to consider when running, how to get started, what things you can do to try and avoid injuries, and what lessons I have learned through the years and my many races.
The major thing that I try to emphasize in this episode is that this journey must be about you. This is your pathway to making a better you and creating challenges that help you grow not only as a runner, but as a person. I am in no way a professional, but I can honestly say that I am a very seasoned armature. I hope you find this information both helpful and inspirational.

Overcoming The Struggle with Alignment
Overcoming The Struggle with Alignment
“Make a habit of asking yourself: Does this align with the life I’m trying to create.”
~ Unknown
In this episode I look at why people have trouble aligning their paths to find success. Understanding why we often become distracted from our goals or having trouble getting to the finish line, will help us create better habits and a more organized thought process.
I have been guilty of putting too many irons in the fire at the same time and then feeling overwhelmed and knowing what direction I need to go in next. When we allow those moments to develop, we invite confusion and chaos into our lives. My goal with this episode is to bring some awareness to how these things happen and hopefully give some tips and ideas of how to avoid those pitfalls.
A very difficult hurdle to overcome is a person that is extremely ambitious and deals with ADD at the same time. Organizing and prioritizing can be a daunting task. I use myself and several of my past experiences to paint a picture of how I have learned to do better in these areas, and I hope that my revelations to my own life will somehow help you if you find yourself in a similar struggle.
A few things that must be present to make progress in better aligning your life is one, recognition, two, a desire to do better and three, patience. The third one tends to be the one that I struggle with the most.
