10-questions: rocks, hummingbirds, music, coffee education, and more
It had been a while and we had had a bunch of plans and ideas including music reviews, a book club to discuss The Road, and a bunch of other things we'd not gotten to or simply forgotten about. Clearly, we haven't done any of these. So we leaned into our standby, a series of 10 questions from each of us, each with spur of the moment answers and discussion. Hold out until the end and you can share in the thoughtful consideration of how to wear sandals and in what circumstances: "I've done that to take the trash out," declares Reed. A few show notes and deeper dives: Here's an essay by Brian Doyle about hearts, hummingbirds' and blue whales' both. You should read this. The mass of a blue whale might be something like 100,000 kg, and the mass of a hummingbird might be something like 0.010 kg. A human mass might be around 100 kg on the upper end. So, roughly, the mass of a blue whale is around 1000 times as much as a person, but that same person would be 10,000 times as massive as a hummingbird. This is what Ben Folds sounds like, playing a live solo version of Landed. Here's a bit more coffee education regarding cappuccinos.

10-Questions: Neighborhood strolls, being a dog, hobbies, and more
Finally getting into the new year, here's our latest 10-questions contribution. And, as we suspected, Adam misidentifies the organ played Booker T. It was a Hammond, not a Wurlitzer. (So embarrassing.) Also, there's an announcement here that we're taking suggestions for future music reviews. Send us a note with your idea!

2025 in review
During one of the 50ish hours when we had a chance over a Christmas holiday gathering, we revisited this annual recap tradition with all family members, including Sam's podcast debut and quick cameos from Gus and Nina. Rather than being one more thing-to-do in the midst of the visit, this was just a great part of the holiday gathering. Categories include notable reads, sights, sounds, places, practices, quotes, and wildcards. You'll just have to listen to hear our answers, but there's educational content including the meaning of "epistolary", proper hydration techniques, names of monthly full moons, music recommendations, features of desert treks, and much more.
