<p>On this episode of Movie Boarding, for her second appearance, Zuly joins me for a special episode covering one of my all-time favorite films, Interstellar (2014). This episode also kicks off a new series where I'll be discussing my Top 10 Favorite Movies of All Time, with Interstellar landing at #8 on my list.</p><p>We're also celebrating the release of Christopher Nolan's latest film, The Odyssey, by revisiting one of his most beloved and ambitious works.</p><p>Before the movie, we kick things off with a conversation about the films that make us cry and the moments in cinema that hit us the hardest emotionally. Then we settle in to watch Interstellar together and experience Christopher Nolan's epic journey through space, time, and human connection.</p><p>The following day, we reconvene to discuss our thoughts on the film, whether it lived up to the emotional hype I built around it, and what makes it resonate so deeply with audiences. That's incorrect. Murph is approximately 99–100 years old when Cooper reunites with her aboard Cooper Station.</li></ul><ul><li>The extreme time dilation on Miller's Planet (the water-wave planet) is caused by its proximity to Gargantua, the supermassive black hole. Because the planet sits deep within Gargantua's gravitational well, time passes much more slowly there compared to Earth. This is why one hour on Miller's Planet equals about seven years on Earth.</li></ul><ul><li>I referred to the film's main theme as the "Interstellar Main Theme." Independence Day with my Friend Daniel - "Welcome to Earff!"
<p>On this episode of Movie Boarding, I'm joined by my friend Daniel for his first appearance on the podcast. Before we watch the movie, we spend some time talking about his favorite films and I give him some credit for being one of the few people in his family who has actually gone out of his way to watch and appreciate movies that are older than he is.</p><p>After that, we dive into Independence Day (1996), directed by Roland Emmerich and written by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich. The film stars Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Mary McDonnell, Judd Hirsch, Randy Quaid, and Vivica A. Fox.</p><p>Once the movie is over, we discuss whether the groundbreaking visual effects that wowed audiences in the '90s still hold up today. We also talk about whether either of us would survive an alien invasion and how a global attack like the one in the film would play out in a world filled with social media, smartphones, livestreams, and 24/7 news coverage. Signs with my Friend Jose 2 - "Tinfoil hats, you gotta do em."
<p>On this episode of, Movie Boarding, I'm joined by my friend Jose as we take a look at M. Night Shyamalan's Signs (2002).</p><p>We talk about scary and suspenseful films that are tame enough for most audiences, including movies that create tension without relying on excessive gore, demons, or graphic content. We also discuss which movie franchises we think could benefit from a horror-inspired adaptation and what makes a scary movie memorable in the first place.</p><p>Then we dive into Signs itself. We explore what the movie is really about and whether it's actually an alien invasion story or something much deeper. We discuss the film's themes of grief, coincidence, destiny, and faith, and how those themes shape the journey of the Hess family.
