Joined by horror fan James Brooks, Laramy explores the movie’s five chilling stories, compares them with their original comic-book counterparts, and examines the dark history of EC Comics and the controversy that nearly buried horror comics for good.

One Shot: The Legacy of EC
EC Comics helped change the way horror could be told in comic books — and its influence can still be felt in horror movies and television today.
In this Moving Panels One Shot, Laramy and horror fan James Brooks take a trip back to the 1950s to explore the history of EC Comics and the horror titles that made the publisher legendary. We talk about Tales from the Crypt, The Vault of Horror, and The Haunt of Fear, the artists and storytelling techniques that made EC stand out, and the controversy that ultimately helped bring the original horror line to an end.
But EC's story didn't end with those comics.
We also look at the influence EC had beyond the comic book page — from The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits to Creepshow and the Tales from the Crypt television series — and how EC helped establish the anthology horror formula that continues to scare and entertain audiences today.
