LA LEYENDA DEL REY HESPERO
<p><strong>Espera</strong> es una pequeña población enclavada en la<strong> sierra de Cádiz</strong>. Cuenta con una población de cuatro mil personas y una <strong>presencia histórica</strong> que se retrotrae hasta el <strong>Paleolítico</strong>, desde donde los restos encontrados hablan de una<strong> presencia humana</strong> continua. Ya en la<strong> época romana</strong> la zona de la villa se llena de pequeñas ciudades importantes donde incluso se llega a acuñar moneda. </p> <p>Es durante la<strong> presencia</strong> <strong>visigoda</strong> cuando, en lo alto del <strong>cerro de Fatetar</strong>, se levanta una<strong> fortaleza</strong> que más tarde aprovecharía <strong>Abderramán III</strong> para controlar toda la zona. A la llegada de los cristianos tras la<strong> "Reconquista"</strong> se le añaden estancias como la <strong>ermita de Santiago</strong>, donde se guarda y venera al patrón del pueblo, el <strong>Santo Cristo de la Antigua</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Espera tiene historia y es historia</strong>. Su milenaria existencia ha favorecido la aparición de <strong>leyendas</strong> que tratan de explicar su origen y raíces. La leyenda del <strong>Rey Hespero</strong> es una de ellas y de las más importantes, tanto, que queda patente en el <strong>escudo actual</strong>: una<strong> torre </strong>en referencia a la fortaleza que aún perdura y una <strong>estrella</strong> cuya razón de ser se relata, precisamente, en este podcast.</p>
