Love, Letdowns & $42 Waffles: The Truth About Relationships | Episode 251

Love isn’t always romantic, marriage isn’t always easy, and sometimes the person getting on your nerves is the same person you promised forever to. 😂 This week on MTMJ Podcast w/the Wife, we’re getting into the uncomfortable truths about relationships. From disappointing your partner and losing yourself in marriage to the sacrifices that come with raising children, we’re asking the questions couples don’t always want to answer. But you already know we can’t stay serious for too long! We’re debating whether brunch is just breakfast with an attitude, why birthday celebrations have gotten so extravagant, fashion trends that need to disappear, and why an $11 breakfast somehow turned into a $42 Uber Eats order. Because WHO is paying that?! Then the conversation gets real. What happens when a father starts a new family and forgets about his older children? Should a woman call off her engagement when her fiancé refuses to be accountable as a father? And why do some people turn their ex into the enemy when a relationship doesn’t work out? We also get into co-parenting, blended families, child support, parenting sacrifices, and what it really means to show up for ALL your children. It’s funny, it’s uncomfortable, it’s personal, and it’s exactly the kind of conversation we love having. Because sometimes the hardest truth about love is realizing you’re part of the problem too. 🎙️ MTMJ Podcast w/the Wife Real conversations. Real marriage. Real laughs. No sugarcoating. Marriage Ain’t For The Weak | Episode 249

Twenty-three years together, twelve years married, and somehow we’re still learning new things about each other! 😂 We’re back with another unfiltered conversation about marriage, relationships, and the everyday situations that can make you laugh, question your spouse, or wonder how y’all made it this far. We’re talking anniversary celebrations, forgotten questions, unexpected gray hairs in unexpected places, and what happens when a company deposits too much money into your account. Are you giving it back, or are they going to have to take you to court? 👀 Then things get personal. We discuss the warning labels we would put on each other, the household habits that drive us crazy, reckless driving, switching bodies for 24 hours, and the things we thought were normal before getting married. But underneath the jokes is a real conversation about longevity. Is staying together important when you have children? Is marriage supposed to be the goal? And how do you know when you’re building something healthy versus staying in a relationship just to say you stayed? We get honest about family, childhood experiences, communication, commitment, and why a two-parent household only matters when it’s also a safe, loving, and nurturing one. Twenty-three years of love, laughter, lessons, and still finding new ways to get on each other’s nerves. This is real marriage talk, the MTMJ way. 🎙️ IN THIS EPISODE: Anniversary reflections: 12 years married and 23 years together The accidental million-dollar payday debate Spouse warning labels and relationship instruction manuals The household habits that start arguments What we would do if we switched bodies for 24 hours The difference between longevity and happiness Marriage, parenting, commitment, and healthy boundaries What we learned about love after growing up in different family environments Why relationships require two people willing to grow 💬 JOIN THE CONVERSATION: What warning label would your spouse come with? And would you return a million dollars if your job accidentally deposited it into your account?
