Born in Mecca Saudi Arabia in 1952 he was known for his distinct clear and tranquil recitation style that deeply resonated with listeners. He completed the memorization of the Quran at a young age and later studied at the Islamic University of Madinah where he specialized in Quranic sciences and Tafsir (exegesis).
