After losing their mothers to cancer, two washed-up comedians, Charlie and Michael, set out to explore their own stories of love, loss, and grief — and to find a way to honour the memory of the women who raised them. Through candid conversations with incredible, everyday mums, they discover the quiet power, resilience, and nurturing spirit that mothers bring to the world. As they draw out these stories, they also hope to unlock more memories of their own lost relationships. Mumma’s Boys walks the tightrope between grief, and humour, shining a light on just how extraordinary mothers truly are.
Sanam probably says it best when she introduces herself as a survivor of war, migration, cancer and divorce. Sanam, a family services practitioner talks about her own rich lived experience of life and motherhood as well as the learning and connection she gets from others.
