[…] Less than an hour after his first taste of candy, he was gone. His family was devastated. When the medical examiner looked at him, the cause was so clear. There was cyanide poisoning. The police realized that there were four more of those fixie sticks out there in the hands of four more children, and so they raced to get them back. Thankfully, none of them had eaten theirs yet. As the story goes, one little boy had gone to bed clutching his giant pixie stick and had fallen asleep before he could open it. He struggled with the staple and couldn't get it open and fell asleep. When investigators examined the tubes, they found that someone had opened them, removed some of the candy, and replaced it with cyanide. […]
