Murder on the Mic with Vanessa Wilson is BACK! 💜🎙️
After a little hiatus, I’m back behind the mic, and what better way to kick things off than with a real-life Halloween horror story?
Halloween night, 1984. San Jose, California. What should have been an evening filled with costumes, candy, and trick-or-treaters turned into an unimaginable nightmare.
When a man wearing a terrifying wolf mask showed up at Doreen Erbert’s front door, she had no idea the horror that was about to unfold.
This wasn’t a Halloween prank. It wasn’t a scene from a scary movie. It was a brutal, calculated act of revenge that would leave a family shattered and a community horrified.
In this episode, we’re diving into the heartbreaking story of Doreen Erbert, the events leading up to that Halloween night, the investigation, and the chilling truth behind the mask.
So grab your coffee, your favorite drink, or maybe a little Halloween candy, and get comfortable. We’ve got a lot to talk about.
Because sometimes the scariest monsters aren’t the ones in horror movies. They’re the ones standing right outside your front door.

THE TENT : THE MURDER OF AUSTIN METCALF
Episode 22: The Murder of Austin Metcalf
What should have been an ordinary Wednesday morning at a high school track meet ended in tragedy.
On April 2, 2025, 17-year-old Austin Metcalf was preparing to compete with his Memorial High School teammates when a brief confrontation beneath a rain-soaked team canopy turned deadly. Within moments, Austin had been fatally stabbed in front of classmates, coaches, and his identical twin brother, Hunter.
As investigators worked to reconstruct what happened, the case quickly became one of the most talked-about criminal cases in the country. Questions surrounding self-defense, witness accounts, forensic evidence, and Texas law sparked nationwide debate long before the trial ever began.
In this episode of Murder on the Mic with Vanessa Wilson, we separate fact from speculation and walk through the complete timeline—from the events at Kuykendall Stadium and the homicide investigation to the emotional courtroom testimony, the evidence presented to the jury, and the verdict that followed.
This is the heartbreaking story of Austin Metcalf—a young man whose life ended far too soon—and the case that captivated the nation.
