He says that peopleare hungry and thirsty for the Word of God. It is our duty as Christians to proclaim the Gospel by word and deed. He adds we do that by being welcoming. He notes that Jesus uses the word “welcome” six times in the 3 verses of the day’sGospel. She says that our nation is deeply divided and that we need to ignore those things that divide us and start listening to one another. She adds that we should respect all people as wepromised in our baptismal covenant as every person we encounter bears the image of God. He points out that God’s gifts are not based on whether a person is deserving or undeserving. Like the apostles we must have belief, trust, and hope in God.
