By attending church, we become image bearers of Christ; our primary mission should be carrying God’s presence in all we say and do. By attending church, we know that when faced with the difficulties of life we are protected by thehand of God. God works with us through the twists and turns of life.

Musings From the Pulpit: October 11, 2026 - The Story of the Wedding Banquet
In this homily The Rev. Dr. James E. Taylor, Rector of St.George Episcopal Church, discusses the Gospel for the day which includes the parable of the wedding banquet. He explains that this parable is about being part of the Kingdom of God. It tells us that there is room at the table for all of us and that there is no higher priority than being part of God’s Kingdom.However, the part of the parable about the improperly dressed guest tells us that it is not enough to just show up; you cannot show up short of righteousness.

Musings From the Pulpit: October 4, 2026 - Be the Cornerstone
In this homily The Rev. Dr. James E. Taylor, Rector of St.George Epsicopal Church, discusses the Gospel for the day. He tells us that this parable (unlike others) is a story without an ending. Jesus is stopping to teach on His way to the cross and tells us His story. It is a lesson about the chief cornerstone andhow Jesus will hold us up each day. No matter how often we turn from God’s message, God still loves us and does not give up on us.
