The Raising of the Son of Nain: Conversion as the First Resurrection
A sermon on Luke 7:11–17 and the widow’s son at Nain. The message examines Christ's divine power to raise the dead solely through His word, using the miracle to illustrate spiritual conversion (the "first resurrection" of Revelation 20). Just as a physical corpse cannot hear or contribute to its own revival, dead sinners are brought to saving faith entirely by the grace and working of God through the means of grace—not human will, age, or cognitive capacity. The sermon addresses God's providence in times of grief, the symbolic nature of the millennium, and how regenerated believers are called to live out good works in their daily vocations.
Sermon preached at St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church (UAC). Serving Magnolia, The Woodlands, Conroe, Tomball, Spring, Montgomery, Hempstead, and Hockley.

Mankind, Angels, and God's Created Order
A sermon on Matthew 18:1–11 and the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels. The message covers the biblical ordering of creation: though angels possess superior strength and wisdom, Christ assumed human nature—not angelic nature—to redeem mankind. Because Jesus died for humanity and exalted believers to the right hand of God, angels now serve and guard believers. The sermon contrasts the humble submission of St. Michael and the holy angels with human rebellion against authority, encouraging Christians to embrace their God-given roles, vocations, and earthly stations.

Are Sacraments Just Symbols? Understanding Means of Grace
In this session, we study Augsburg Confession Article XIII on the Number and Use of the Sacraments. We explore what defines a sacrament, why Lutherans focus on God's word of promise attached to physical elements, and why faith—worked by the Holy Spirit—is required to receive the benefit of these gifts. We also discuss practical questions regarding Communion admission, closed communion in large churches, and how Christians should navigate fellowship and heterodoxy.
