My Lost Decade, Episode 23 There’s Power in Silence
There’s Power in Silence "The strongest person in the room is rarely the loudest. It's the person who knows when to stay silent." The older I get, the more I realise that peace is one of life's greatest achievements. It isn't found by controlling other people or winning every disagreement. It's found by controlling ourselves. Prison is a dangerous place, full of people desperate to prove themselves. Every day someone wanted to show they were tougher, smarter, or more important than everyone else. Respect was often measured by who shouted the loudest or who had the last word. I used to believe that too. If someone challenged me, I felt I had to answer. If someone insulted me, I thought I had to respond. If someone tried to make me look weak, I believed I had to prove them wrong. The problem was that every argument came with a price. Sometimes it was my peace of mind. Sometimes it was my reputation. Sometimes it was my pride. It took me years to realise that not every battle deserves to be fought. One of the most important lessons I learned behind bars was that silence isn't weakness. More often, than not, it's strength under control. There were a lot men who couldn't walk away from an argument. Their ego demanded the final word. They confused reacting with strength. The truly dangerous men were different. They didn't need to convince anyone who they were. They didn't waste energy arguing. They didn't feel threatened by another person's opinion. They simply carried themselves with quiet confidence. That lesson stayed with me long after I left prison.

My Lost Decade, Episode 22, Taking Back Your Mind and Mood Swings
For more than 30 years I struggled with anxiety, depression, and the relentless voice in my head that seemed determined to keep me trapped. During ten years of incarceration in some of America's toughest prisons, I studied psychology through Open University courses. Those lessons, combined with my own experiences, helped me regain control of my mind and find a level of peace I never thought possible. Today we're talking about mood swings. If you've ever gone from calm to angry, anxious, frustrated, or overwhelmed in a matter of moments, you're not alone. Mood swings often arrive without warning. They can be triggered by stress, memories, hormones, or even a simple comment from someone else. The good news is that you don't have to be controlled by them.

My Lost Decade, Episode 21 The Roads That Shaped Me, behind every quote is a story
The Roads That Shaped Me, behind every quote is a story. Most people know me through a quote. A few words shared online.A reminder to keep going.A thought about kindness, healing, or happiness. But behind every quote is a story. A story of mistakes.A story of heartbreak.A story of resilience.A story of lessons learned the hard way. This podcast isn't about teaching from a mountaintop. It's about sharing the roads that shaped me. The moments when I doubted myself. The times I felt completely lost. The people who changed my life without ever knowing it.The dreams that failed. And the dreams that somehow survived.
