S3Ep1: "Morgan Wagner" There Will Never Be Another Endo The Blind
So honored to have Morgan Wagner as our first guest of Season 3 on My Magical Horse The Podcast!
Morgan is the incredibly talented owner and trainer of the famous "Endo The Blind," an Appaloosa horse who has accomplished amazing milestones without any eyes!
Morgan, Endo, Jordan and Xena met 11 years ago at a Working Equitation Clinic in Ridgefield, WA with Portuguese Trainer Nuno Matos in March of 2015 and continued to attend many of the same clinics, shows and events for the next couple of years.
It was a lot of fun to catch up with Morgan again in this interview, after she and Endo catapulted themselves into a level of celebrity because of how much success they achieved on so many levels!
In this episode, Morgan explains some aspects of how she trained Endo after he lost his eyesight in 2013 by developing unique communication methods, including multiple verbal cues and energy awareness, that led them to eventually start competing for the first time together and ultimately took them all the way to the master's level, the highest level in Working Equitation, before blind horses were banned from the sport.
Morgan shares her insights about working with blind horses and the need for precise training techniques and boundaries.
She currently has several blind horses in her program and is working on a documentary about her and Endo's Legacy that they built together as well as a Blind Horse Training Series to help others with both blind and sighted horses alike.
She credits the massive amount of time she spent helping Endo become comfortable and safe in his stall and pasture after going completely blind, along with other training objectives, for their ultimate success later in his career.
We talk too about how she taught him to jump blind, with the disclaimer that we DO NOT recommended that anyone else try this as there are just too many risks! However, Endo made it look easy!

Morgan has a truly innate gift! And special ability to communicate with and help problem solve "problem" horses by breaking tasks down into small, progressive and positive steps, which she says is something she really enjoys!
