About Nashville Sabbath Fellowship

Welcome to the Nashville Sabbath Fellowship podcast. Here, we share recordings of our Shabbat teachings on the weekly Torah portion. Nashville Sabbath Fellowship is a community of primarily non-Jewish disciples of Yeshua (Jesus) who practice their faith through a Messianic Jewish worldview. We strive to restore the role of the nations in God's kingdom by honoring the unique calling of the Jewish people and following their lead. Like Yeshua's earliest followers, we understand the person and teachings of our Master from within the context of first-century Judaism and the Torah worldview.

   Ruling the Heart (Parashat Noach)

In Parashat Noach, the Torah confronts us with the problem of the human heart. The sages teach that “the righteous have their hearts under their control,” and Yeshua likewise warns that what fills the heart eventually comes out in our words and actions. This reflection considers how we can learn to guard and direct our hearts, paying attention to what we allow to shape our thoughts, desires, and inner life.

Ordering the Inner Life (Parashat B'reisheet)

HaShem created the world by giving everything its proper place and purpose. In Parashat B’reisheet, Kayin is warned that sin is crouching at the door and that he must rule over it. This reflection considers what happens when anger, resentment, or unhealthy desire begins to take hold within us, and how HaShem helps us bring our inner lives under His rule. https://nashvillesabbathfellowship.org

When the Sukkah Comes Down (Shemini Atzeret)

What does Shemini Atzeret teach us about HaShem's presence in our lives? From the dedication of Solomon's Temple to the coming of Yeshua, Scripture reveals God's desire to dwell among His people. As the festivals draw to a close, we reflect on His everlasting faithfulness to Israel, the promise of restoration through Messiah, and Yeshua's assurance that the Father will make His home with those who love Him. A reflection on carrying the closeness of these sacred days into the year ahead.
